"LOST" Thread - Part 2
Moderator: S2k Moderators
We only got 13 minutes of the recap episode. Our Satellite went out (storm) and the DVR recording stopped. Grrrr!
Which reminds me, I have to make sure our Sony Watchman and Sony TV/Radio/Wx battery operated hand held radio both have fresh batteries. For next week's Season premiere. We honestly had a power failure during a Lost episode once and I had both ready. The audio on the Watchman isn't very good, that's why I prefer the other. Yeah, we looked kinda nutty that night, tuning in both dials, TV with pic, TV with better audio and walking around with a flashlight. Hubby gave us odd looks. Normally I'm lighting candles but Lost was on! LOL
Had this not been a recap episode, OMG - I'd by dying about now or buying the ep on iTunes.

Yeah I did. Wonder what that means? Everything seems to mean something with this show.
It just seemed to be a glaring omission. She did provide Desmond the sailboat and Ana-Lucia wasn't only one Michael shot.

'Lost' Actor Beats Traffic Charges
Case against Akinnuoye-Agbaje dropped
September 27, 2006
"Lost" star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is free and clear of two misdemeanor charges in Hawaii after prosecutors dropped their case against him.
The actor, who plays Mr. Eko on the ABC series, was charged with driving without a license and disobeying a police officer after being pulled over in the wee hours of Sept. 2. In a hearing Tuesday, which Akinnuoye-Agbaje did not attend, his lawyer was able to show that Akinnuoye-Agbaje had a valid California license at the time of his arrest.
The disobeying-an-officer count was dropped, a Honolulu prosecutor's office spokesman tells the Star-Bulletin newspaper, because it couldn't be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

Today's News: Our Take
Lost Star: The Others Are the Good Guys
Speaking to the Associated Press, Lost's Michael Emerson ("Henry Gale") says that Season 3, premiering Oct. 4, will move the show "geographically and spiritually to another place," as it spends some time letting viewers get to know the Others — who, as Henry told Michael, actually may be "the good guys." "He means it," Emerson says of Henry's hard-to-believe claim. "We may not agree with him, but I think he means it."
I'm sorry, the good guys? Last night's clip show reminded us that the Others shot Sawyer with a real gun — no rubber theatrical prop — in the Season 1 finale. Maybe Henry meant they're "the guys with good aim"? But I digress. As Emerson goes on to say, "The Others seem so frightening [because] everything in the real world is frightening when it's unknown. Their agenda is unknown to us, therefore we fill it up with terrible imaginings." Kinda like when Paris Hilton announced her album.

I have to agree, the others are not the good guys! Sawyer's more "good" than they are! And we don't always know what his intentions are.
What I really want is more island time, with our main Losties. Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Locke, Claire, Charlie, Sayid, Jin, Sun - which reminds me, I want Jin to learn English!
Okay, my Lost rant is over....

Lost Season 3 Premiere tonight! Remember, episodes go over a few minutes. I have my DVR programmed to record from 8:58 until 10:04. I also have the Sony Watchman and Sony TV/WX/Radio at the ready. The TV audio is better on the radio but we need the pic on the Watchman. I'm just having everything in place if the power goes out (it did once). Am I addicted to this show or what? LOL

Question: I'd like to offer you a trade: some shiny new Lost scoop in exchange for my grade-A, 100 percent genuine, completely unblemished immortal soul. Whaddaya say?— Sun Jester
Ausiello:
Throw in a pint of Cake Batter-flavored Tasti D-Lite and a $100 gift card to Best Buy and you've got yourself a deal! Just kidding — I'm not allowed to accept gifts in exchange for scoop unless you send the gifts to me at home and don't tell anyone. Now, as I bragged informed you in the Ausiello Report, I've already seen tonight's season premiere and you guys are in for a treat of epic proportions. The episode was fraktastic. Damon Lindelof and J.J. Abrams' script was jam-packed with thrills, chills, twists and turns aplenty, and Matthew Fox delivered what, IMHO, was an Emmy-clinching performance. Seriously, the gold statue is his to lose. And while we're at it, let me also extend mad props to the underrated Julie Bowen, who was handed the Herculean task of uttering the single most heartbreaking line of dialogue this TV season — and she knocked it outta the park. I have 16 sopping-wet Kleenex to prove it.
Question: What can you tell us about where the Others are living? And where are Kate, Jack and Sawyer being held captive? Is it predictable? Astounding? Give us something, please!— Mike B.
Ausiello:
First off, nothing about the episode is predictable, particularly where the Others are concerned. In fact, I'll go so far as to say your perception of the creepy outcasts will be completely shattered within the first five minutes. I should also point out that one of the show's three newbies is featured very prominently tonight, and let's just say this rookie made an extremely favorable impression on me. (Best. Casting. Decision. Ever.) And as I mentioned in AR, a grilled cheese sandwich also gets a good deal of airtime, as does a very familiar-looking dude named Ben. Oh, and one more thing: we get introduced to the island's first openly gay character. At least I'm 95 percent sure we do. Keep your ears attuned (and turn your gaydar on) right around the time Kate steps foot in the shower. That's when the telltale clue gets dropped.
Question: We've seen in the previews that Jack opens a door and then water comes gushing out. Is this another hatch? Is this particular scene in the premiere?— Mary
Ausiello:
It's a five-letter word that starts with H, but it's not "hatch." And yes, that particularly scene is in the premiere.

The show following Lost actually looks good "The Nine". It'll track 9 people's lives after their were held hostage for 52 hours in a bank robbery. I have some concerns about the long-term potential for this show, but I think it might be good at least initially.
Oh and don't forget Lost will go on hiatus in 6 weeks(after November 8th) until February. "Daybreak"(the show that will air in the slot) looks horrible though. Think "Groundhog Day".

Okay, you know how I joke around about having the Plan A Sony Watchman and Plan B, the TV Band Radio both ready with good batteries? Well, guess what.....we have a 70% of storms this evening. One county to my north, they have a T-storm watch posted. This is just great! See the problem is not only losing power, it's losing our Satellite signal. And when that happens, any in progress recording is stopped.
Plan C - getting an old rarely used VCR on our bedroom TV (13 channels) programmed. This recording will be my backup to the DVR.
LOL!!!!
Lost has been my focus just about all day.....he he

OMG - we've been tricked. This wasn't the Lost Season Premiere! It was the Season Premiere of so many frigging commercials. This show has been reduced to 30 minutes. Brent is furiously calculating how long the commercials ran I'm sure. LOL It's just that after every 5 minute or so very powerful scene, we get another string of commercials. Seriously, I'm mad. Why couldn't they give us a 2 hour show?
I'll read your comments now. Believe you me, I won't let this go for a while. Still love the show, when it is on, ya know. So many ads...

I taped it so I'll check(after The Nine is over)... but it should be around 42 minutes(that's what DH and Grey's have been running since they came back). It seems like a lot more though. I find it very frustrating at times as well.
I had actually planned to try and watch(and I may still), I just got distracted by some other things.

Fans on the IMDB Lost board are hopping mad there were so many commercials. I've already replied (artichoke6 over there). I've skimmed a few topics, it seems that many were disappointed with tonight's season premiere. I'm in the middle - didn't hate it but I'm disappointed so little action happened. We learned virutally - NOTHING. Ugh. Well, we did learn a few morsals of info.
Maybe disgusted is more like it. I'll wait to see what everyone else posts.
Remember last year when we finally got to meet Desmond and tour the hatch? It was exciting, weird, all that food, water, a washer and dryer. A bed! Books to read! What did we get tonight - water and bars. Ugh.
