if everyone prepared correctly and did nothing stupid during and after the storm, we could get hit by a strong cat 1 and have some fun.. AND not have any deaths or even injuries.
but that's too much to ask for right?
i would love to get a cat 2.
after Wilma, I went around and cleaned yards for $80 a piece. Made almost $3000

ok.. im not sure how far away 90l is.. so 10-15 mph would bring it close to the US on what day?

after what happened in new orleans i dont think anyone will stay home if a CAT 3 was roaring toward them... In my opinion they would be really stupid if they did...

Dude...you have no clue what would happen with even a weak storm on the north central gulf coast. In my area, Evacs would be ordered for a Tropical Storm so yea, that's too much to ask.

new orleans is a completely different animal than say, wilmington, nc. we do not have a huge lake sitting north of us being kept back by levees. wilmington also doesn't sit below sea level. i would not leave my home for a cat 3 storm and haven't for any of the ones i've been through.

I agree!!! The dark reds have diminished slightly, but I guess we are entering that time of the day when the convection will once again dissipate, but I'm sure it will pick up again this evening. This does look like it can reach depression stage tonight once the convection refires.
