Wow... surprisingly high winds from Ernesto

#1 Postby MiamiensisWx » Wed Aug 30, 2006 3:36 pm

This is just hilarious...

Article

From the article... this has got to be an error...

At the Lake Worth Pier, a 45-mph gust was recorded at 7:17 a.m.; the National Hurricane Center meteorologists also received an unofficial report of a 51-mph gust in Boca Raton at 8:20 a.m. Palm Beach International Airport recorded a 4- mph gust at 9:51 a.m.

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

I knew this storm was a dud.

Better not go outside if the gust is 4 mph.. It might blow a leaf onto your shoe..

Yep... don't want to destroy the delicate polish and supple leather...

As a side note, that has got to be an error in the article. I think the airport registered a 40MPH gust, so it's very likely an error in the article.

Yeah, they went to hit the "0" key and got the "-" right next to it instead.

This is not funny. A 4 mph wind once blew my roof off.

That's the last time I build a house out of straw.

A few days ago many of us were worried about this storm.

Joking after the fact is a good stress relief, as we take down the shutters and feel vaguely silly for all of the preps that we did (but don't regret doing.)

IN MY defense. I wasn't worried about this storm.. I am actually not afraid to say I was disappointed Ernie didn't make it to a Cat 1..

I love these storms. Even though Charley scared me 1/2 to death, Frances ruined my 04 Labor Day weekend, and Jeanne whipped us around..

I have a major fascination for the wind and the power of the wind.. and it if anything is actually getting stronger instead of fading..
