We're already getting a warmup for Ernie up in Faynam. Nasty little storm this afternoon and more ugliness over Moore County. Gonna be an interesting couple of days.

BTW, did y'all see the projected rainfall totals from the Raleigh NWS?

I got a little over and inch earlier today in an hour and the wind is picking up and it's thundering again. According to the local radar another bout of storms are coming...well, I hear it raining now. The wind is picking up as well with this storm. I changed the settings on my weather station to retrieve and store all info every hour instead of every 24hrs to see how things look over a period of time until Ernesto gets through here and passes. Nice go be able to go back and look over it later, KWIM. BTW, I live a few miles west of the I40/I95 junction.

So hows the weather for everyone else?

I noticed that as well

I don't know what to think...but he is coming...minimal hurricane or tropical storm...regardless, the rain will be a BIG problem!

dry...havent even received a sprinkle today...New Bern just NW of me got socked though, caused the power to go out here for about 30 seconds as our power comes from NB, so that was about the most exciting part of the day...

Wow and I am sittin' here with some lovely breezes at the most 8.7mph coming from the NW to WNW, rain and thunder. Good sleepin' weather. Kinda wish I had a house with a tin roof like I had growing up. But in a bad storm you had to yell for anyone else to hear you over the echo of the rain on the rooftop. Then again, when I was a kid we didn't have A/C...just fans in the windows and when it rained we took them out and it would get hot in the house. Don't really miss that!

Tin roofs...ahhh they are good :) I really dont like the TWC eastward shift (unless it shifts out to sea) as it puts me closer to the center of the cone, however with the NHC's cone, I'm on the extreme eastern end...so will watch, but the most I'm really worried about would be...rain

I just told Hubbie and he wants to go out there to see him. If I get a pic will post it LOLOL
But the fact he is here is very ominous in my opinion.
hhmm maybe they won't have to tear down the Pavillion after all, mother nature could do it for them.

well Carolina TC Fans...it does seem the NHC shifted the actual cone slightly, and I do mean slightly, eastward...earlier I was on the eastern line, but now there is no doubt I'm in the cone...

I must say...I'm no stranger to "The Cone" as on monday I was in the center of it with a 75 knot hurricane going over my head since then I've been living in the extreme eastern end...hopefully I dont end up in the center again...

We got drilled here on the Southside of Charlotte, received over 6 inches of rain since 5 pm yesterday with more to come today. Stormed most of the night, some strong storms. Clearly rain/flooding will be the concern here.

We picked up 1.5 inches in Faynam. In truth, we really needed it. Just not so sure we'll need what's coming. I swear every model has seemed to have us in the cross hairs at 1 a.m. Friday for the past 3 days.
