LOL, probably because like me, nothing has been done for days as all eyes glued to the PC.

there's just not much to talk about in the tropics right now unfortunately. Usually this time of year is our busiest, but 2006 is different.

To work. Unlike the many lucky state workers and other lucky folks that got to stay home for this big event here in south Florida...I was at work till 5:30pm yesterday, and reported here at 8:45am today.

I didn't have to go back to work today, but after spending so much time glued to the computer the past few days I decided to take a break for a little while and build with Legos with my son.

During the hurricane season, I check out the Storm2k page, talkin' tropics and I just look at the logged-in members as an index of whether anything of note is going on or not. If there's a huge block of members, I know there's something goin' on, and then go to the threads to see what is happening.......

big block of members =

At least it gave a chance to get ready... there were a couple things I had been putting off, so at least now I'm ready for the rest of whatever season this turns out to be...

i realized staring at my pc screen at a storm for hours on end wasn't too healthy and went to do something else.

Plus to be honest I wasn't getting the information that I needed, a lot of people misinterpreting satellite and radar images and sniping at each other...I finally just said I'm going to go do something fun for awhile and check back only after the model runs and NHC updates.

Was amazing yesterday with every one arging false centers into the Gulf...NHC Don't screw up 24 hr forecasts...Should be a lesson for next time

Still around these parts. Toggling between the monster storm Ioke and John (not too far behind) and surf reports.

tell me about it - if I were to put the amount of effort I put into Ernesto into my MBA classes or work - I'd be in excellent shape right now
