Trough axis seems to be showing up near Honduras/Nic. Border. Low should track along this trough(WNW) at least for awhile.

Brein I was very surprised by this rapid development of this as I was in the mall from this morning until early afternoon. We know that the tropics offers surprises and this one really was a quick one that may be a hurricane as some models suggest. :o So I wont be at malls nomore and be here to make forecasts for storm2k weathercentral.

I was really suprised this morning, when I seen all of this starting to take shape. Just goes to show ya how quickly things can change. We need to keep two eyes :o on this one. Call it a gut feeling but I think this one has a very good chance to develop.
Hey Cyc, just take a cell phone with you to the mall next time,we'll call ya if you need to go home to post LOL

Whoa, I just noticed what's going on down there! Things sure do get started fast in the tropics.

 to Luis and Garrett.

Luis... maybe next time you go to the mall something else will develop in the Atlantic Basin.

A quick look at how this convection flared up would indicate a more rapid than 24 to 36 hours for development.....

Hmmm. I posted that Canadian model run earlier this week when it brought a landfalling 980's Cat-1 into the Big Bend. I thought it was worth noting to see what the Canadian was up to when TD #2 and its remnants was on everyone's mind. This wave was NOTHING. Yet the Canadian said it was going to deepen and make landfall. It backed off in successive runs, but I'm making a call without looking at any models or expert opinions based on the original run. I'm going with a tropical storm (at least 60mph) making landfall between Apalachacola and Cedar Key. For you guys who got cheated out of most storms last year, here's one that's likely going to be a cross-off of my list. Let's see what happens to be sure. As I said, I'm basing my prediction off the run that started it all. Even if nothing develops, give some credit to the Canadian model for hitting on something no other model even hinted at. And for whomever joked, "What do Canadians know about tropical weather", I can't answer that question. But apparently their model is working well with this system. I don't know what it saw, but give the devil his due.

OMILORDY! I had to drive to Orlando and back yesterday, 13 hours, so I didn't get a chance for my weather fix and I log on this morning and whatdoyaknow!! Ok...........I am awake now! Someone please recap what is going on while I wipe "sleepies" from my eyes :? PM me if you want so you don't have to repeat yourself through a thread. I am playing "catch-up" right now and considering I am in the FL PH, I need to do some research and see what is happening in my backyard. WHOA, these threads this morning worked almost as good as coffee!! (I said almost)

Hang tight folks and Heads Up!

Sandi :D

Happy Father's Day!!!!!!
