I don't think he was going to far out on the limb there.

Like I said earliar this morning, I don't think convection will die off tonight as it did last night and so far this has been the case. If this persists through the night then this one will have a pretty good chance at rapping up a bit. I'm pretty confident in this.

Convection has been persistent inbetween the Yucatan and Cuba. Secondly there is a rotation along the wave in the BOC, but no convection.

Yes convection has been really peristant today and so far tonight...much more than yesterday, however presures remain high. Buoy 42056 is reporting winds of 31.9 kts gusting to 37kts but the pressure is pretty high and rising.

Buoy 42056

Supplemental Measurements
Highest 1 minute Wind Speed
Time (GMT) WSPD WDIR
0148 34.4 kts ESE ( 120 deg true )

That would be TS sustained winds

Really deep convection is firing well off the Yucatan's Easterns coast.

Anybody have a close-up of IR color imagery like a floater would show? I'm going mad looking at this thing on the Western Atlantic full basin map. It's like using the Full Disk.

There's really nothing to put an Invest on yet. It's only thunderstorms, yet persistant thunderstorms. Pressures are still pretty high.

That is much better. It's still not as good as a floater, though. But thanks for the link. It's really awesome.

It's much better than a floater...

As long as something is in range, I've seen the images update at 5/10 min. intervals.
