Not saying TD 4 will end up like any of these, but there are a few storms that become TD's off the coast of Africa and make it all the way to the
U. S.
1980 Hurricane Allen almost hit Brownsville as a cat 4 before stalling and turning northwest.

1938 New England Hurricane

1928 Lake Okeechobee, Floridas worst in terms of loss of life and surely one of the strongest.

1915 Galveston, this is the strongest to ever hit the upper Texas coast in the 1851 to 2005 period.

Ivan and Andrew (I think) should be added to that list.

I hope I never see anything like that anytime soon in my life. We stayed in Rocky Mount NC with my parents. Would have been better off at the beach with the flooding in the coastal plains region. They still have not fixed everything that was broken as a result of Floyd in those areas most flooded.

Isabelle formed not far off the African coast. Do not want to go there.

I think Andrew should be in that list, though admittedly it was a storm that took a long time and covered a great distance before really becoming anything. Sucker fought shear the entire way across the Atlantic until it started heading west into Florida.
yeah, hurricane "It's Too Close to the Equator to Form!" Ivan....
