Well for all of you wondering why this season has been slower than expected, I have 2 words for you Global Warming. All across the Global community people are conserving fuel, recycling, reducing the cutting of rain forest and of course feeding their cattle reduced Methane gas producing grass. ARE YOU DOING YOUR PART.

This is only my attempt at some lite satire, please no slamming I know we on this board have different opinions on G.W., and thats probably a good thing.

Now my problem with Rush making fun of that is that someone who heard that and didn't realize that he was making fun of the hype hysteria might get the wrong idea. Yes, he does state several times that the NHC says it will not develop after it dies but you know how some people are.

After what has happened the last few years, I think that was in very poor taste.

Yea, this reminds me of another real slow season. Heck, that year the C storm wasn't named til Aug 10. But things got a little busier after that. The D storm came on Aug 13, E on the 14th, F on the 25th, G on the 28th. In short five named storms in two weeks. Of couse I'm not saying that will happen, just a lesson on what could happen. The year that happened, way back in 2004 (Charley, Danielle, Earl, Frances, Gaston).

I can't help wondering how many "SEASON CANCEL" threads this board had by late July in 2004.

Actually, didn't 1998 have a very slow start?

At this point, only Alex had formed. Bonnie wouldn't come until late August.

And I remember very well 1998 with a not pleasant experience.

Interestingly, Georges was the only Cape Verde storm of that season.
