Thursday August 9th 2001, a major heatwave peaks in the northeast, setting records near Philly left and right, my record high for the month was set of 104 degrees, Philly hit 101, setting a record high for the day and I believe is still the last official 100 degree day in Philly (They hit 99 several times recently)
I remember a 111 heat index, and the day ending with a flash and a bang.
