THIS SEASON IS SO BORING

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

All Caps necessary, thank you very much.

Thank you. Somebody needed to comment this. There have been so many threads on this. This is still 'technically' an above average season. Ppl need to stop saying this is boring. This is NORMAL. And stop comparing things to 2005 this is 2006 last time I checked. 2004 Was boring to until around mid-end of august and look what happeaned I had 3 Cat 1 or greater pass over my head and an extensive amount of other hurricanes making landfall. If its oct 1st and there's still 4/0/0 then that would be a boring season.

2005 wasn't a normal season. We got 2005A and 2005B. This season is what you consider (average or just above). So far I'm happy with the season. No major destructions, no rise in the fuel price because of hurricanes, no possible rise in the energy & insurance bill because of this year's hurricanes (none so far). So, if anyone wants a really active season, the solution is really simple, follow the Western Pacific.

excuse me but i did not say 2005 was a normal season i said IF IF IF you consider 2005 your idea of a normal season which its not its unheard of those please don't put words in my mouth.

This season is boring, and I LIKE IT. After last year it's so nice not to be glued to the TV/computer 24/7. I hope we're all still saying the same thing at the end of this month and September though.

This is like saying the NFL season is "boring" after only the 3rd game.

Sure those of us that like activity have been spoiled by last season's rush. But without any real tropical activity it threathens the purpose of this board and why most of us are here.

That's a really good analogy.

It's also like saying the "Chiefs" will beat the "Steelers" this year.

I'm a Columbia, Missouri native so I'm kinda torn between the Chiefs and the Rams here...

so... uh... Go mizzou?

(sorry for going off-topic, but it's the trendy thing to do! you don't want me to be a laughing stock to the other kids, do you?)

Well I am not comparing this season to 2005. I still see it being a average to below average type season like an Andrew or Hugo where those names were really the ONLY talk of those seasons. Conditions should be better in place even right now in August. It may not even be until mid or late September till atmospheric conditions can even support a major cane. The shear and dry air does not want to seem to go away for a while. Until then SEASON CANCEL in my book.

Gotta throw in a S. FL shout -
C - A - N - E - S - CANES, CANES, CANES! :)

Now, back OT - and lest we forget '92 when the A storm didn't form till late Aug., and it was a doozy.....

Granted, no one should write off this season yet, but it is kinda boring when you enjoy tracking the tropics and such, as we all do or we wouldn't be on this board :) Besides, I'm getting entirely too much work done when there are no storms out there
