chris remnants thread #8

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I think the real problem here is that people don't want Chris to die. Are people that hungry for a Tropical Storm? I for one would be glad if the season was over today. Don't get me wrong... I get excited when storms come just like many, but think of how many days we sat around watching Chris. I've been on these boards for several storms and people devote 6 days straight with no sleep to see a storm not come within 200 miles of them lol. It's almost a job to watch these things. I had enough fun last year. Let this year be over early!

Been there, done that. ROFL...sad but true!

For me, it *is* a part-time job.
Last year, it was a full-time job and then some.
This has been a very normal season......so far.

Always prefer people freaking out over every swirl or MCS to those stuck in a storm surge or inland flash flood because they were clueless.

Hello all, this is my first message on this board. I became very interested in hurricanes after evacuating from Rita last year. Now I've found a message board full of people who are even more interested than me!

I can't believe how much interest there was in that insignificant little storm last week. I thought they should rename this message board The Passion of the Chris.

I look forward to lots of back and forth once there is a REAL storm to discuss!

This system looks very disorganzied and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Upper-level divergence appears to be lacking to create more thunderstorm activity. Chances of redevelopment look almost non-existent.

Yes, we shouldn't let ourselves get burned out too soon. There will be more tropical activity than we can shake a stick at pretty soon.

I'm on record predicting (based on little more than faint psychic powers) that Ernesto will be the big storm this year. He should be born within the next couple weeks.

I'm thinking Ernesto might be a dud too, simply because everybody seems to be predicting him to be The Big One. :P

Should have known better. The names this year are all historical duds and weak sisters. geez, how many pointless "Beryl"s have there been? And Chris....and Debby, the Mother of All Duds. Actually, Debby wasn't a dud, Debby was out and out suicidal.

Well since someone else bumped this, There's some convection at about 24N 89W. There may be some turning.

A little bit of convection. Poor Chris and his remnants are probably going to run out of time. :D

I just can't see Ernesto being much. The name sucks and I don't want to have it hear about it for very long.

I'm all for a year full of duds and fish. My insurance bill and my patience need a break.

Seems like that would be the case in most seasons, because ones that aren't duds and weak sisters often get retired. Seems like Katrina and Ivan, among others, were notorious duds at one time...

You know I was thinking the same thing about Florence being a bad one. Of course since I said that it will be a dud!

And I thought Chris was long gone!
