Would you consider this, so far, the most boring season yet?

When you live on one of the islands where there's no place to run in case of a TS or a 'cane, hurricane seasons can't be boring enough! :ggreen:

North Florida isn't as bad, but, for us living way down in South Florida, it's basically an island on three sides, so, I'm looking for that first cold front of the season, which, as the old timers down here would tell me, usually meant the end of the hurricane season (not always, but usually).

It's been a long, hot summer, but, if I'm not mistaken, I thought someone recently mentioned that it might be an early fall - temps in Canada seem to be cooling a bit already...

I like seasons that are quieter. Not that this season is quiet...it is normal.

I like seasons that are quiet.

I would be perfectly happy if there were no storms this year...Not that my
wishing has any influence on the outcome...but I do not want any storms
especially threatening storms.

No storms coming = No worries = Happy Paradise in Florida

This season has been more interesting than 1997, 2000, and 2002 up to this point. And even if it's not the most exciting season so far, I'll take after the last two years.

That was a good one.

I can kinda see how people might find this "boring" after last year, but in actuality, we are above normal for the date. June and July are typically very slow and rarely produce storms...

1992 was a boring year EXCEPT for Andrew,and he came along in August.Just when I'm ready to call this season a bust,I remind myself that the heart of hurricane season has yet to come.But I get the feeling we will only see 4 or 5 hurricanes.Maybe a couple will hit the US

Obviously you did not experience Rita or Katrina. Things are now much different for many of us. Bottom line boring is good so whats the question

I knew before I opened this thread that the word "boring" in a negative manner would probably offend a bunch of people... And I understand that, of course.

But yes, if you'd like a simple 'Yes or No' answer - this is the most "boring" season we've had in a while.

Whether "boring" is a good thing or a bad thing is a whole different matter. And I'm not about to go there!

Boring? compared to what? I have found it interesting. Chris was/is quite an anomaly compared to most "normal" TC's.
