I just posted this in the recon discussion thread:
The 53 knot reading is bad data -- notice that the gust field says 047. The gust can't possibly be lower than the 30-second average wind speed.
EDIT: I was wrong. I got the columns mixed up. There was actually a 47 knot sustained wind with a 53 knot gust. Very impressive. It's quite a localized wind maximum.

47 knots is the 30 second average, 53 knots is the 10 second avergae.

Chris looks to be far enough south in the Gulf for the impact to be well south of SE Texas, IF it survives.deltadog03 wrote:here is thing that concerns me...lets say that chris survives. I am pretty sure your right...but** i will not completly say thats a done deal. Just the other day the GFS and company had the ridge centered near Atlanta.
