Yeah, the NE side of the circulation definately isnt as compact as it was before in terms of cloud cover

Edit- Okay GM, I had to refresh my page to see what you're talking about. You're right. Hmm... :?:

KFDM-why do you think hes been north of the forecast points lately?
NHC needs to move their points north slightly. He's moving along with the flow aloft now.

Yeah I noticed the same thing. The shear from the NE seems to be getting real close to Chris but then it almost stops in its path. It almost looks like the NE part of Chris is blocking the shear from getting into the core of the system.

It appears to me that Chris is at least "holding his own" at this point. He definitely is still fighting off some NE shear, but he appears to be leaving that behind slowly. Also noted that ever so slowly but surely, or at least it appears that way to me, the NW side of the convection is beginning to inch back into the center of circulation. Definitely has not begun to wrap the center yet and won't be able to until he gets away from the shear, which I think may be by morning but I wouldn't be surprised if Chris is "doing ok" by late morning. I am actually quite surprised by what I think I am seeing tonight, since I was almost sure he was dead late last night.

Eyewall replacement cycles cannot happen if there is no eyewall.

My mom asked me what happened to the storm and I used a pizza analogy someone posted last night. [/random]

Not a pro met, but Chris does not have an eye wall to do an EWRC with.
