Enough all ready - read his reports he compiles all his data from many different sources and makes an inference. You know the scientific process.

willjnewton wrote:hello where are you guys all I asked was what data does Dr.Gray used to PREDICT HIS LANDFALL FORECAST WITH for this hurricane season?????

Yeah, and you asked it 6 minutes ago.

He uses different factors. A pro met can tell you more technically, but basically, he looks at patterns that suggest more ridging or more troughs. For instance, weaker high pressure along the east coast would allow storms to curve north and hit NC, for example. During a season with stronger high pressure, storms would be forced south into Mexico and the Gulf.

its in his update william....

yes he is predicting it to be a higher chance that the east coast will get hit.... yes... its in the update.... the reasons are in there too... read them.... this has been answered several times now and you just dont stop... your posts, and tone seems rude to folks here and they will not answer you if it continues... you want answers right then, and that is just not going to happen here... read the other posts on the board and you will generally find your answers there to most questions....

I suggest you type into a search engine 2006 hurricane predictors or Dr Gray Forecast and then take the time yourself to educate yourself on the topic. All of your questions can be answered by a little reading. Demanding the folks on this board try and explain a complex topic is not going to get you what you want.

Aside: you should read your post before you post to make sure they make SENSE!

Right now it's strong. That has nothing to do with the rest of the season, though.

Will,

This is my one question for you. How did you find this message board?

Right now the high pressure is strong, but that can change. Anything else will?

The ridge flucuates...north/south, east/west. Dr Gray doesn't have a crystal ball...and neither does anyone else here...to say storm X will hit such and such place on a specific day and be a Cat whatever. Seems that is the real question you are asking and as stated NoONE here, there, or anywhere can answer that right now for you. Not being rude or ignoring, just that it's an impossible question to answer.

So he gave the east coast a 64% chance...that's also a 34% chance of nothing...look at it that way if it helps. Plus it's a guess...granted a well educated thought out guess, but still a GUESS. Kind of a heads up for everyone...be prepared/not scared. So you shouldn't lose sleep over it or get so stressed out you hound strangers on a message board.

Lots of stress from the last 2 yrs...understandable. Don't know if you're new to coastal living or have experienced a hurricane 1st hand and may be suffering from PTSD. Just a guess on my part, but you seem young as well...maybe talk to your parents or an adult friend about your fears...let them help you work it out. Yelling at people here and posting over and over if a hurricane is going to hit your area is not the way to go about it...and if you're doing this seriously it's certainly not healthy to have all that stress .

Sorry mods and other posters but somebody had to do this...back to lurking.
