This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Aug 3rd nothing to talk about except a decaying Chris

Lets hope Debby develops soon just to track so we don't have to talk about Chris a naked swirl which is pretty sad. Were still used to last year were we were tracking storm upon storm. I guess it easy to get bored since our season seems to be normal now.

I'll admit Boca, I'm bored too.. I feel like 2004 {where I took 3 direct hits} and 2005 where we had at least 1 storm to track every day till January, I feel SPOILED. So I feel like a spoiled brat now with no storms. Bring on Debby so we can track it.

A nice long lived CV storm that we have to track for over a week

FWIW, we are at double the activity of a normal season.

Your right but I'm still on my tracking high from last year so this year feels like a drop in the bucket compared to the full bucket of last year.

Anyone think the high pressure orientation change off the UK will have an influence?

Remember in 2004 all we had at this time was Alex (which incidentally was brushing NC on this day that year). This season may not have had a hurricane yet, but they are coming, just be patient. In fact, call me a nut, but I predict at least two out of the next three storms to become hurricanes (despite his past, Ernesto somehow really has the sound to it this year). I think the wild ride may begin in just a couple weeks in fact.

It was pretty boring last year at this time too. We were between the big ones.

After trying to keep up with all the posts in the last several days, I'm relishing this quiet time. I'd like to be here though...Image
