Chris: Looking at the big picture.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

If you were Chris what would you think is the easiest path to take. Looking at the general weather motion, it seems the likely path for would be for it to take a sweeping arc through the southern Caribbean and then back northwestward. This would still possibly make a US gulf landfall quite possible but unlikely. WADAYATHINK??

I think that I hope Chris doesn't turn into a Jeanne and start doing loops.

I think that Chris will never get to the GOM.
Know it sounds loony but historical tracks show that only one storm (August Tropical Storms within 200 miles of where Chris is at 11 PM) has made it to the GOM.

So where else could he go?
- Turn north. Unlikely since the ridge is blocking
- Die. More likely given latest path to the South of West and potential impending doom should he cross into the DR/Haiti or Cuba.

Will be interesting to see....

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t1/loop-ir2.html

shortwave IR now shows Chris' LLC moving away from the convection and MLC. The LLC is also still moving WNW. Based on this I think one of two things could happen. Either...

A) Convection refires around the LLC and Chris comes back to life (and possibly better than ever).

OR

B) Chris dies/remains a TD or weak TS for the rest of his pathetic life.
