LOL ~ My sister is heading to the Keys tomorrow ~

We live in St Lucie/Indian River County and she is going on vacation tomorrow to the Keys.

We're all curious to watch Chris...I mean we're prepared after the past 2 years of seasons but still... I just hope he doesn't get over a 3. Francis and Jeanne were bad enough.

And the islands surely don't need to be hit again.

The question that needs to be asked is how long she will be there?

Yeah...she might make a backup hotel reservation somewhere on the mainland, just in case.....don't guarantee with a cc unless necessary, but hotels can fill up really quickly when the Keys are evac'd....

Yeah, so she would be heading there for 10 days, lol. And her BF has family flying in from out of town and they rented a house down there for that long.

I know the Keys evacuate non residents prior to residents but at least she's just going to Key Largo...not very far down.

It's a waiting game at this point. And the local paper said August was going to be a 'busy month' for Florida.

Here we go again...

I manage a resort in Islamorada and most of our guests have cancelled. If it stays on the current track the tourists will be booted tomorrow night or first thing Friday.

I was planning on being in Key West on Sunday afternoon for a few days - cancellled! Oh well, we're accustomed to that living along the coast. Key West will just have to wait.

Don't think it's going to be a good weekend for a vacation in the keys.
