Maybe I've been gone for a while, but I don't notice any huge burst of convection looking at the the infrared and vis loop.

Cloud tops were warming all morning. But in the last couple of hours, there's been a nice strong burst over the center.

x-y-no I was expecting that to happen - and we are seeing it. I would expect more tonight though.

I think Chris is actually getting better organized and just needs the convection now to really come together.

At flight-level. It's more like 40-45 kt(45-50 mph) at the surface.
