Linux (Tropical Weather Software)

I got some software, and I set up Fedora Core 5 on a desktop computer, and I am having a terrible time setting the program up (which can do hurricane tracking) so if there are any Linux experts out there please PM me.

I have some experience with Linux. I am using Ubuntu right now. I used Fedora Core 5 for some time. I do not believe that the software you mentioned with work properly in Linux. Remember that Linux is a completely different architecture compared to Windows. However......you could try to use a program called "wine" on Fedora which could make it work. Otherwise, I do not think it will work. Hope this helps

Try putting the "www" in front, for http://www.linuxiso.org

Unfortunately, it says it's down right now.

Linux is not as user friendly as windows is.

Windows is more simplistic to operate

Yes, but unfortunately this particular software only runs on Linux. The installation trouble continues....

I run about a dozen linux boxes - Fedora and Ubuntu mostly.

What program is it you're trying to install?
