Does anyone here know German? (It is German, right?) It would be interesting to know what the folks on that board said about those incredible pix.

I don´t think so. The point is the shutter. Must be something > 2 sec., that´s the trick.

I'd have died of a heart attack if I had to live through that thunderstorm.

I would have been hiding under the bed, not taking pictures.

Hi, I usually run things like that through Google translater (in Google, select "Language Tools"). It's crude, but at least gives an idea:

"GENERALLY: Lightning pictures today evening with Comersee!! (gel.: 1573) -- Matteo of the nordlichen Gardasee - north Italy -- 25. July 2006, 23:57 clock

Woah, really breath-robbing pictures "

wow, that's a horrible tranlation!!

My translation: :D

General board:Lightening pics taken this (today's) evening near Comersee! (That's in northern Italy)

Not good, I know, but I'm not that good in translating German-English.

The pics are real .. The shutter exposure was likely in the order of possibly up to 30 seconds. I've seen exposure photos where the shutter was left open for 1 minute and revealed a very fascinating panoramic display of mother nature's fury.
