This morning on one of our local channels in Mobile they made a comment that a wave would be moving into the GOM from the Caribbean. Any thoughts or words on this? Is this the wave we have been watching that some of have said that would go toward the Atlantic. I believe it was Fox10news out of Mobile that said it this morning around 7am.
Could this be the same wave?

I actually found David Glen's Blog where he talks about it.

That brings us to the next topic...the tropics. The low pressure system over Texas should drift north staying inland. A low pressure system could quickly form off the mid-Atlantic states through tomorrow and Friday. But, closer to home, the one main feature to watch is a tropical wave (easterly wave) that is approaching the Lesser Antilles. This is a well developed wave, but there are no signs of any further development at this time. It is moving west at a fairly brisk 20mph, and should cruise through the northern Caribbean Sea and adjacent areas of the Florida Straits. The GFS model has been a little bullish with this wave in enhancing the shower coverage as it drifts through the Gulf. Most other models keep this feature as a tropical wave drifting west eventually toward the Texas coast. I only bring this up because we are approaching the first week of August, and such waves have to be watched for any development. I will keep you posted on this wave and I will have updates in each of my weathercasts.
