I wonder if that means next summer (likely June or July), Tropical Storm or Hurricane Andrea will devastate the area?

yeah...she was just found not guilty...unbelievable!

98L * The little system that could* Hopefully this will be Houston's only tropical event this year. We are really getting soaked right now in the Galleria area.

Not guilty by reason of insanity. Big difference. No doubt she was insane. Anyone who could do that to her kids HAS to be mentally ill. No doubt about it.

Check out the Brays Bayou Cam. It's located near the medical center across Brays Bayou from Ben Taub's emergency entrance. I bike by it every day. The lower bike trail just above the paved section of the bayou is now underwater, making the water depth there 18-20 feet.

I think most of this will move through by late afternoon with the best upper level dynamics. Most of the rain tonight should be north and east of us.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORT WORTH TX
1010 AM CDT WED JUL 26 2006

.UPDATE...
TROPICAL DISTURBANCE GOT BETTER ORGANIZED OVERNIGHT BUT INFANT
CIRCULATION CENTER MOVED INLAND BEFORE SUNRISE. FOR ALL EFFECTIVE
PURPOSES THE SYSTEM IS NOW ESSENTIALLY BEHAVING LIKE A REMNANT
TROPICAL CYCLONE AND IS MOVING NNE AS SHORTWAVE DIVING SE ACROSS THE
MIDWEST PICKS IT UP. THE MAIN LOW LEVEL VORTEX IS LOCATED NEAR LA
GRANGE AT THIS TIME WITH THE TROPICAL WAVE AXIS ANALYZED FROM CLL TO
CRP.

The worst is still coming from the GOM. Houston, Galveston, Beaumont and portions of LA should watch out for flooding.

AFM or other mets, what can we expect as far as rainfall here in south central Louisiana (Lafayette). The leading squall line is about to reach us but it looks like some of the activity over SE Texas might make it's way to our area later. Are we out of the woods flooding wise this system yet or not?

Alot of flooding in the Beaumont/Port Arthur area. 4-8" in some areas since this morning. Wind gusts to 45 MPH as well. Just like having a Depression.

Looking at the radar, I see that the storm totals off of Aransas County are over 13.5" of rain...the worst is southwest of Houston.

You need to look at the direction the storms are moving...

He also said the worst has moved "east" of Houston...

Not how posting a still image, tells us how much we have yet to go through.

MOst of that has been offshore all day long and will most likely remain offshore until it moves east of Houston. HOuston itself doesn't have much more to go through at all. Galveston and points eastward are what will see that red area....not Houston.
