Looks like the center may just pass to the south of them. Probably nothing more than TS force wind gusts and some torrential rain for a few hours or so.

They are now reporting sustained winds of 33mph and gust to 44mph.

And 1004.9mb pressure, while the lowest in the center of the storm is 1004mb.

Gusts like that are fun to watch. It's fun to watch wind gusts in this range. When it gets higher it isn't fun anymore.

They are now reporting a pressure of 1004mb. So the center might be getting very close or moving right over them.

They are just lucky this storm weakened some before impacting them. The difference between a 50mph storm and a 60-70mph storm is like the difference between a "typical" thunderstorm and a severe one.

latest from the NWS:

...NEW INFORMATION...
LATEST SATELLITE AND RADAR IMAGERY SHOW THAT TROPICAL STORM BERYL
CONTINUES CLOSE TO THE EXPECTED TRACK. THE HIGHEST UNOFFICIAL OBSERVED
WIND GUSTS THROUGH 2 AM WERE 44 KNOTS AT THE CAPE WIND STATION ON
NANTUCKET SOUND.


44 knots = 50-51mph

Latest VDM has 1001mb...a 3-mb drop in about 2 hours. The center is in Nantucket Sound...so Beryl already passed over the western tip of the island.
