How's the Crow Taste?

#1 Postby Downdraft » Tue Jul 18, 2006 5:15 pm

Beryl today huh? Season's dead huh? This thing will never develop, doesn't have a chance, no way Jose, hmmmmmmmm wonder how the crow tastes tonight for those brave enough to admit they are eating it? "Ole Mama Nature gonna do what Mama Nature wanna do and a whlole bunch of people should realize in this forum the fat lady doesn't sing very often this time of year. Score NHC 1 / 0

You forgot to add: "Don't expect anything until August."

One more thing. The Score is NHC 2/0.

If you check out the thread in Tropical Analysis, for this date we should have 1.01 named storms (over the 155 years). Looking at the post-1995 era, by this date we should have 2.00 named storms. Time to simmer down, kids.

Honestly, most of the "boring season" posts were jokes.

I think the point of the post was that the season is not dead and that people should not call a season dead when it's not even August/September

*Sigh*

Good luck trying....

You can only say "normal" season so many times, maybe eventually it will get across...;)

It was mid August in 1992, no hurricanes to date, and everyone said what a boring season it was. Then Hurricane Andrew hit South Miami-Dade County on August 24 and the Central Louisiana Coast on August 26.

It only takes one.

I don't know you to post things like these but, are you mad at something? I know that people have posted threads JOKING around about the season being dead I don't recall anyone posting a thread that said there wouldn't be any cyclones form in the Atlantic this year.

Why must we take these threads so seriously? I think it's good for a laugh.

Yeah, the season cancel posts were mostly jokes.

The real crow eaters are the ones saying LAST NIGHT that this was dead and it was time to write it off. People have really gotta learn that losing convection isn't automatic death for a storm. 8-)

So, is this a "this season is perfectly normal" post? We now have two storms. By this date there should be exactly 2.0000000 storms. All is normal. Nothing to see here folks. Do not sound any alarms. Do not stray from senorepr's plan for a perfectly balanced and 100% ordinary season.

Remember 2004? No named storm until the end of July. And then we got Charley, Frances, Gaston, Jeanne, Ivan! Even look at 1992.. Andrew didn't form until August and no one says that was boring season.

The point of the post was generally humor. A little humility from those making strong claims and proven to be wrong however, would sometimes be appreciated. Big difference between saying "I don't think" and "No way." Absolutes in weather are seldom absolute. If the thread offended anyone sorry but nothing about tropical cyclones is ever an absolute and I have 40 years of observance to support that statement. The exception being the guy manning the hurricane desk perhaps in Iceland. Smile it's a long way to November 30th.

I've been here for three season now, and every year in June and July it is the same crap. Like some people think Mother Nature is a performer that has to keep them constantly entertained, that attitude is so juvenile Never even considering that their entertainment sometimes is death and destruction
