This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

New to the forum, but it's July

#1 Postby hurricanebubba » Sat Jul 15, 2006 12:00 am

I'm in Ft Lauderdale, used to live in New Orleans, storm freak, yes i root for them, and yes i know the devastation they cause, been through it. I'm still in awe though.

But....this is July...Who has ever thought mid July as hurricane season. Last year was the anomole with Dennis and Emily, Katrina was July 29? Yes there may not be 25 storms to track this season, who knows maybe there will be. But, one Katrina, one Rita hitting a populated area, or another Wilma will make this a memorable season, at least for some.

Hurricane Katrina was August 29 and the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season had 28 named storms.
