

All who live in the NE caribbean remember well Hurricane Bertha on this date in 1996.My experience with it as the eye passed around 50 miles north of San Juan was torrential rain and winds gusting up to 50 mph but nothing more than that.

well it's sustained winds were the highest
Bertha: 105mph
Fran: 115mph
Bonnie: 110mph
Dennis: 70mph
Floyd: 105mph
Floyd was the most destructive though, actually the most destructive in NC's history
Bertha: $270 Million
Fran: $3.2 Billion
Bonnie: $720 Million
Dennis: $157 Million

But the smell was so bad. We had hogs chickens turkeys ect... in the waters dead. Some times I can still smell it for just a sec. I know it is me but I do.
