JB did a great job of communicating that there is a HUGE judgment and art aspect to TC forecasting, enriched by experience, vis a' vis a *purely* number-driven approach. I think a lot of folks overlook or don't appreciate that approach.

Oh my goodness, that was a amazing show. Definitely the best show you have ever had by far. He can come on at anytime! JB seems like a really great guy.

JB's videos this morning still indicate that he thinks we could see Gulf activity sometime between June 20th and the beginning of July.

Though I have been a paying AccuWeather customer from way back when I lived in Pa where JB lives and enjoying the localized weather for where I lived, I wanted you all to know that should you not know it, you can join AccuWeather Pro as a trial for I think 20 days, maybe 30 free.

Anyway, just thought I'd mention it.

Personally, I follow JB in the winter more than in summer, don't know why... However, I'd like to mention that I admire any person who will go on record against others and come along with a different opinion.

JB mentioned it in the column:

I was on an internet radio show last night called Talking Tropics and it brought back memories of my ill fated attempt with my cumpare, the ski-ing weatherman, Herb Stevens at a Saturday morning radio weather talk show, Real Weather USA. That was the most fun I ever had in weather, that show. And last night I had me chance to do what I love to do, talk weather and in this case the tropics with the folks on this show. Now they made arrangements for 15 minutes, thinking that I was busy and had things to do. Well I stayed an hour and a half, and if they hadnt cut me off , I would still be on now. Too bad i couldnt take calls.

Interestingly enough, the previous record for a guest was by none other than Stacy Stewart at the hurricane center and I am not shy about letting people know how good a forecaster I think he was. But I got some satisfaction in beating that record, since Stacy is an OU grad, and my dad went to A and M, after the beatings the sooners had given the Aggies a couple of times, I figured I had to strike a blow back for the maroon and white.

Actually it had nothing to do with that, but you know me, right.

Great interview and awesome show!

I traded brief e-mails with JB and he offered pleasantries toward the S2Kers. I told him everyone really enjoyed the show.
