Why did no one reply in here after the last one was so active? Oh well, i'm going to start this one off because it's one of my favs. We can use the new track maps. I'm going to post some up very soon (tonight).

First one:

Not impossible and this is not a category 5 storm either.

The worst case would be a Cat 5 hitting Miami moving towards Louisiana as a Cat 3, riding along the coast strengthening to Cat 5 hitting Houston.

This would Demolish Miami... Flood New Orleans...Take out all Louisiana Coast...Then Demolish Houston

Cat 5 Hurricane carrying massive amounts of the Ebola virus slams into New York. And the hurricane is full of terrorists too.

The thing about hurricanes is that every storm is different and the weather conditions that decide on their path and strength change every time, so anything can happen, and it can be really bad or just plain bad. Your scenario of a Category 5 hitting Miami and then crossing over, sweeping by Louisiana and hitting Houston is an example of such a devastating possibility. The odds of such a thing ever happening is probably once every few hundred years. The possibilities of a Cat 5 severely damaging Miami or Houston are quite high in the long run, but the same storm hitting both is highly unlikely. The possibility of it occurring with Rita last year though does come to mind. That storm was rapidly strengthening just as it was approaching south Florida and was predicted to make it all the way to SE Texas at the time, so I thought that your unbelievably bad scenario was possible, but fortunately it didn't do too much to Florida and missed Houston. But it was a super-hurricane at one point.

Shall I start with the many ways that is totally impossible

Not at all impossible.

Huge thunderstorms with massive updrafts in West Africa pick up the Ebola Virus. Lots and lots of it. These storms move offshore as your typical tropical wave, eventually forming a huge hurricane just south of Cuba. Largest hurricane ever recorded, which is no stretch at all given what we've seen recently. Sustained winds at over 230mph. A Cat 6 if there was such a thing.

The storm moves over Cuba and levels Guantanamo Bay, picking up al Qaeda operatives that are being held there.

Hurricane gets steered north by a strong cold front, but moves up the coast quickly so doesn't have time to weaken below a Cat 5. Hits New York with 170mph sustained winds, loaded with Ebola Virus, terrorists, and some of the terrorists have the Ebola Virus. Maybe it picks up a little Bird Flu along the way as well.

The perfect storm.

LOLLOLOL

Well ive lived in miami and my house has survived so many storms with no really HOUSE STRUCTURE damage other than roof indoor and outdoor. But if a cat 4 or 5 came here, we would evacuate. We stay for up to cat3.

The impossible part is the Ebola Virus making it accross the ocean and staying alive. The Ebola virus doesn't live outside a host body very well. In fact, one of the reasons it hasn't caused a pandemic is it is too efficient a killer. It kills so quickly that the hosts/victims don't have enough time to spread it around before they die, and once they die, the virus doesn't stay alive long enough to infect new people.

Perhaps thats why it would stop and pick up some terrorists along the way?

That's easy. Remember the movie where the boat was caught in the eye of the hurricane. Now imagine the boat filled with terrorists. They sneak in under the radar by hiding in the eye of the storm. Their ship wrecks and compatriots meet them and take them to an undisclosed location where they can plan their heinous deeds to destroy New York. The hurricane rides the coast and turns extra tropical and hits New York like JB forecast. But the terrorist are undaunted and continue their plot to set off a dirty bomb while the hurricane rages. So now you have a radioactive hurricane riding up the coast. In the aftermath of the most devastating hurricane imaginable they release the ebola virus on the unsuspecting survivors. This ebola does not strike quickly so when the army and fema arrive to help they are infected and will take the virus to all parts of the US
I have a vivid imagination. I should have been a female Stephen King.

That is just crazy. Who would have the brains to hide inside the eye of a hurricane?

A doomsday storm would be a Cat-5 Hurricane with 180 mph winds hitting Miami on the Atlantic side then going into the GOM with 100 mph winds then strengthening back to a Cat-4 with 150 mph winds and hitting Pensacola with 145 mph winds then the storm weakens to about a Cat-1 and going back into the Atlantic and strengthening back to a Cat-3 with 130 mph winds then hitting NY with 125 while weakening to a Cat-1 over Maine and disappating over Canada.

I don't know how someone would be able to actually do it but it's been though of before. Just look at the show "Invasion" One of the shows I watched all last season. Aired right after Katrina. Someone though of the idea of aliens hiding themselves in hurricanes and controlling where they go. Of course they chose down just south of miami for the canes to come in.

Another thing. Why are you all trying to kil Tampa? :) Seems like 70% of all your made up deadly huge storms go through my area, wether it be from the atlantic or GOM. Tampa has a shield and it's staying put! (I hope) Otherwise  I'm in trouble. Hopefully we dont look back at this thread at the end of the year for any reason other than amusement.

However, Bird Flu could...It is quite common to see Sea Gulls trapped inside of the eye of a hurricane, so some make it to land with the Bird Flu and give it to other birds etc etc and then you have a huge problem...imagine all the chaos on top of the storm it would bring...

The most impossible part, besides the terrorists, viruses, and radiation, is the 230mph sustained winds. A brief gust that of that strength is possible with a hurricane that's well into Category Five status, but the laws of physics itself would probably keep the highest potential sustained winds in a tropical cyclone maxing out between 195-205 mph at the surface. I just hope that hypothesis is never tested.

A. Let's throw all of the terrorists into the next Cat 5 Hurricane that comes along...now that's my idea of the Perfect Storm!!

B. Cookiely, Steven Spielberg called. He wants his script back.

8-)
