OK, this is the general discussion thread for the wave system in the eastern Caribbean south of Puerto Rico and it's chances for development down the road.

Visible imagery

Water vapor imagery

Discuss it here and it's chances you think it has down the road.

Don't know about down the road, but the wave SE of Puerto Rico has a twist to it now, and some convection is blowing up a bit. We'll see.

That was for posting the advisories for the islands in the Caribbean on the system, CHRISTY. This is for the general discussion this system and it's developmental chances anyone may think it has down the road.

Is this the same wave that was mentioned in the thread this am, that concerned the folks at Eglin, AFB? They mentioned it could end up in the Tx/La area?

guys the lastest GFS run gives me chills.between the strong bermuda high setup and the strong tropical waves rolling off africa this is looking more like september then june.

Actually CapeVerdeWave is right to make this thread because the Atlantic Tropical Waves,Comments,Sat Pics,Models one is for waves between Africa and the Lesser Antilles and this one is for the Caribbean wave.

CHRISTY, that is for ALL tropical waves. Post that in the thread on all the tropical waves. This thread is for a specific tropical wave axis system south and south-southeast of Puerto Rico.

Good idea CVW it gets confusing in the other thread talking about all 3 out there.

This wave just keeps growing and growing with covection. Seems like there is a bit of shear to the north of the system though.

A VIGOROUS TROPICAL WAVE IS PRODUCING NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND A FEW
THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA... MUCH OF THE LESSER

It's a nice looking wave, but I don't think it will develop; rain will probably be the biggest concern.

Its moving so fast it will barley have time to strengthen even if it did become a Tropical Cyclone.

Its nice to be back, it must be Hurricane Season. TWO says conditions are unfavorable for development - I hope they say that all season long - but doubt it.

TX sure could use a weak tropical system - otherwise I dont think its going to rain againi until October.

This wave looks to be holding its own in a hostile area. Once it move into the western caribbean it should go IMO. Interesting times ahead.

really how did u figure that out?remember that is also what also drives storms towards the US.
