The floaters are just storm-centered closeup sattelite views. You'll find the floaters page here:

I think it's 3 in 1968. Believe it or not, it was the most active month of that season!!!

I know the conditions out in the Atlantic really aren't that favorable right now, but these waves look awesome. I truly cannot believe that this is happening in June.

I think if both of these develop into named storms it will be safe to say that 2006 is looking to be worse than 2005. Which would be hard to do.

My prediction is that 1 of them will make it. I'm not sure which one though.

Yeah, and both look to be headed into the Carribean where the highest oceanic heat content values are in the entire Atlantic and the location where the least amount of shear is this time of year!!! Here we go....

not really that usually means there closely watching it...like everything else in the atlantic.


TPC itself has nothing to do with the satellite images appearing on the floaters. SSD changes those floaters based on requests from the public.

Didn't last season not follow climatology? I seem to remember reading something about that and is this season (i know it's very early in the season)so far following climatology?

If both of those waves develope,June could be a horrible month for the US coast :eek: And we have bearly gotten into the 2006 season. I fully expect another cat 5 or two before the seasons over with

Ok Guys I am well chastised (LOL) I should know better than to post just based on memory. Cindy, Dennis and Emily were JUly storms. and Hurakan I never said either of them was a Cat 5, I said they flirted with Cat 5 status. I was wrong but I still think the premise is sound. Early and strong storms may become much more common.
