THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR... BEAUFORT COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST SOUTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 300 PM EDT

* AT 214 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO NEAR PARRIS ISLAND...OR ABOUT 8 MILES NORTH OF HILTON HEAD ISLAND...MOVING NORTHWEST AT 30 MPH.

* SOME LOCATIONS IN OR NEAR THE PATH OF THE STORM INCLUDE... PORT ROYAL AND PARRIS ISLAND... DALE... SHELDON AND GARDENS CORNER...

THIS TORNADO MAY BE WRAPPED IN RAIN AND NOT EASILY SEEN. IF YOU WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE OR HEAR IT COMING IT MAY BE TOO LATE. TAKE SHELTER NOW!

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO...TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY!!

Try reading the warning better - it's 8 miles north of the island heading NW. No danger to the island there.

That's why I hate the Weather Channel. They scream "tornado warning for Hilton Head" on their website...

So far there has been 4 tornadoes reported w/ Alberto.

A little harsh are we. He was just reporting the tornadoe warning. Just got back form walmart here in my area and they had TWC On all the LCD Screens and they were showing this cell right near hilton head.

A co-worker just got a call from his fiancee that there were as many as three tornados that touched town on the Islands (Wilmington and Tybee) here in Savannah. She was close enough to hear one of them. :eek:

theres more strong convection firing off the coast that will be heading NW towards the coast although theres no warnings i would be watching them closely

I live in beaufort and one waz in lural bay. We could here it. Power just came bak for me.
