Here are some pics of the surf in Alabama

Last night we had some clouds come from the south (GOM). Even though they didn't produce some much needed rain they did look impressive. This morning I went down to Gulf Shore and Orange Beach to put resumes in at some of the school down there. I took a detour to the beach after I finished. These pictures are taken at Perdido Pass at the bridge (Alabama Point) in Orange Beach. And yes that is a boat (small boat) that thought they could go fishing today. I feel sorry for them but they should had known before they went out. Check weather reports! Anyway enjoy!

Opps I forgot to say which album to click...It is the one label TS Alberto.

Those are some of my favorites. I still can't believe the boat though. At first I thought I was seeing things but it was a boat. Later when we were leaving I did see a USCG helicopter flying near him. Haven't heard anything on the news though!

It is. I was between Grande Point and the Perdido Beach Resort. My inlaws have a place at Summer Breeze which is the small little building in between those two big ones. Thanks. :D

Great Photos! I took a look at the rest, and in the Ivan section it said something like "Another glance of the Brunos" and I'm thinking...wait...how did I end up in the pic...then you see the building and its like...oh...never mind...it freaked me out when I saw Bruno...creepy...

We actually had a surprisingly good thunderstorm out of it all, and we needed it. Had a pretty good blowup of convection over the central Gulf Coast. Thank you Alberto.

I love the pics! I used to vacation on Orange Beach and Perdido...I've probably been there 20 times but not since Ivan...I remember the Bruno's and many of the condos very well.

Thanks for the beautiful pics. That surf quite kicked up nicely.

I'm planning on taking a few days for vacation in the Orange beach area, from my research there is tons of vacancies so it's perfect for the last minute planner like myself. Any reccs you could give me for a condo would be appreciated.

We're going to Gulf Shores this weekend for Father's Day as a surprise for my hubby. Haven't been over there since Ivan, but I've heard that the beaches are pretty much back to normal. I need a break from the hurricane recovery here!

Thank you for the great pictures!

We've spent lots of time down there over the years, and it's so nice to see it again.

When are you going down there? My husband's aunt and uncle have a place down there they went out. I know there is about 2 1/2 weeks they are coming down there in July and the very end of June.

Also go to http://www.greatrentals.com or http://www.rentalo.com They have condos on their for Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. If you want to you can email me at beachbum_al@bellsouth.net and I give your information. The condo is on the great rentals site on the end of the third page or the top of the fourth page. It is at Pelican Pointe. Also the Phoenix are very nice units. If you are looking more for the hotel type Perdido Beach Resort is very nice and is right on the beach. I don't know how much it cost a night though.

Hey, when you go back to Gulf Shores you should take a pic near where the old Pavilion (sp) used to be...near there, if they havent taken it out, is the one lone anchor, out of four that held down the HLP Isuzu Rodeo, that survived Hurricane Ivan...Man...its almost been two years...It'll be two years in October of me receiving the truck at the Lowe's up in New Bern...the only media there was Channel 12, but if it happend today chances are everyone here would of been there... Channel 7,9,12, and Havelock News...

I love the area!!! I am closing on a place in a few weeks and despite the hurricane threat I am not deterred. I live in Mobile and owned a place during Ivan but sold it for a bigger pre-construction in Perdido Key. Orange Beach & Gulf Shores barely show the scars of the last two hurricane seasons. I've been to Alabama Point two of the last four weekends and the water is beautiful this time of the year! Great photos. Hope you won't have any bigger storms to photo this year or the next 20 or so years.

Are you talking about the State Park that is on the Gulf Side? If that is it, it is still there. It is a mess and they keep talking about tearing it down and building a luxury hotel/resort there but nothing has been done yet. It just sits in ruin. Now the actual pavilion with the fishing pier has been replaced down the road bit with a more dynamic and updated version. I don't think the pier is there though. I will have take pics this week when I go down there to clean.
