Alberto has absolutely exploded last night - best convection it has had since it has formed. What will this mean for FL impacts along the west coast of Florida now?

I am very interested in seeing the reports come in

Heavy rain for hours in sarasota, lightened up some. This Alberto does not come on shore till tomorrow? So the weather will be worse here tomorrow?

Here is what the forecast is for St. Petersburg/Clearwater from the NWS Ruskin office - is it too generous given Alberto's unexpected strengthening?

Tuesday: Periods of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 8am, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 8am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High around 86. Windy, with a southwest wind between 29 and 34 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between one and two inches possible.

Chance of percipt is 100% I can verify. Think wins will be stronger.

When the Mets say 100% chance that means that the whole entire area will be covered in rain. If it was 50% chance that would mean only half of the area would get rain.

I will have to dump them at home into an album then transfer them to photobucket and do a slide show or post them individually.

I am at work right now so I can't do it. I will continue to take photographs and video footage as the storm approaches and moves through the area.

Well I'm sitting out here in a double wide west of Tampa less than a mile from the gulf. Steady rain for the last few hours but no serious wind. Tampa will be on the strong side of the storm so I'm hoping this current convective burst gets blown off by shear. 50 mph winds would be ok but we start losing tree branches and power if the storm intensifies much more than that.

Had a decent little blowy rain yesterday afternoon. (diddly for rain accumulation)
Now today looks to be a little more promising. Some nice steady rain most of the morning and a slight breeze. I'll take some more rain please and thank you! and Alberto can keep his breezes to himself (I like my trees the way they are).

If this comes ashore as a 70mph TS, which I think is a real likely scenario, this is what to expect across the state:

At the Direct landfall site (right at coast):
-50 to 65mph sustained winds and gusts to 80mph.
-Widespread minor damages to branches, small trees, shingles, mobile homes, and signs.
-Likely loss of power.

-Inland along the path of the storm:
-35 to 50mph sustained winds and gusts to 50-70mph.
-Scattered minor damages to branches, small trees, shingles, mobile homes, and signs.
-Scattered power loss.

In the Orlando area:
-20 to 30mph sustained winds and gusts to 40-45mph.
-Isolated very minor damages mainly to loose items and small branches.

North of the landfall area:
-25 to 35mph sustained winds and gusts to 55mph.
-Isolated minor damages mainly to loose items, branches and signs.
-Isolated power loss.

**All areas have the chance to see higher winds within stronger squalls.**
