Tampa - (South) - Not bad, nice breeze! Dogs won't go outside! Had heavy down pour earlier and gusty winds.

We just had enough rain to make spots on our cars and we had some gusty winds for a little while.. There was a severe cell to the West of us about 6:30 or so.

We had some rain this afternoon. It was pretty windy. The sky was black to the west of us but never quite made it my way. Now it is totally still outside, nothing is moving. Kind of wierd.

In Jax a couple of hours ago, we had a severe thunderstorm warning for the westside for potentially 60mph winds and the trees were blowing like the dickens with tiny stinging rain drops. I got caught in it coming outta the grocery store. No lightning/thunder though so I guess it didnt really quallify as a severe thunderstorm. And thankfully, my AC is still running 8-)

I was in Marathon (The Keys) yesterday afternoon and this morning. It was very windy yesterday afternoon, and of course has been cloudy too. Rained pretty hard there last night. Driving back north to Tampa this afternoon (Brandon actually, slightly inland) - saw some awesome rain/cloud bands and "outran" the storm. :)

Since early this morning, there has been a light drizzle here in Homestead (way down below Miami). I would say nothing umbrella worthy and no wind. It stopped a time or two but the complete cloud cover never went away. It kept us off the bikes but not out of the pool.
It's nice to be back with fellow trackers again! You have inspired me to teach a group of 7th and 8th grade homeschoolers about forecasting. The class is this fall and they will get to know Storm2k!

Welcome, Honey. I'm just down the road in Key Largo.

Tonight, light drizzle starting. Wind almost calm, very humid. The heavy rain of yesterday didn't repeat today, just heavy cloud cover. Nice enough weather that I put up a new section of gutter on the porch.

Current conditions at Homestead AFB:
Humidity: 94 %
Wind Speed: SE 5 MPH
Barometer: 29.96" (1014.6 mb)
Dewpoint: 79°F (26°C)
Heat Index: 89°F (32°C)
Visibility: 6.00 mi

Another Homesteader here - we had rain through the night and this morning, but it tapered off this afternoon. The only water out there right now are the community sprinklers  LOL My desktop weather says it's 79 out there but feels like it's 85 right now with a rain shower....

Was in Key Largo most of yesterday, around 1:30pm light rain started at Jewfish Creek, it became briefly heavy for about 20 minutes and by 2:45 had abated at John Pennekamp park. Dry and no sign of rain on the drive back through Miami up to Broward.

Heavy rain with light thunder most of the early morning (3-7am) in NW Broward (Tamarac, CS, near Taravella). Light to moderate rain off and on all day with one downpour at about 2:45pm that lasted 10 minutes.

Currently overcast, no rain at the moment.

I think once that batch of squalls move onshore the west coast may begin to see some 20-30mph sustained winds and higher gusts.

Its taking forever for the rain to reach up here in Pasco county! I've been watching it on radar since about 11:30 and at that time it was getting into Sarasota. It's just getting into Southern Hillsborough county with a stretch going up Pinellas county but that wont affect me. It just seems like its taken FOREVER for this rain to move through the area.

Strond bursts of convection this early morning...maybe we will wake up with a little surprise tomorrow morning? 8-)
