It's re-airing at Midnight and 2am EDT tonight... and other times later in the week.
Anyway, this is a bit freaky how it was so accurate.

Stephanie may be a bit optimistic in thinking that Katrina's wrath "shook" everybody in the U.S. into an increased awareness.
Since recently moving to Maderia Beach here in west central Florida, it amazes me how so many people here in the St. Pete/Tampa/Clearwater area are truly clueless about surge and how it can absolutely become a life changing (or life ending) event.
Naive or nonchalant - not sure which, but it is prevalent.....

they are clueless here. during charley newscrews were doing reports form the gandy and howard franklin bridges and the bayside bridge standing there getting hit again and again by waves crashing on the shore and getting "walked"(or blown over) by the winds even after the police ordered mandatory shutdown of the bridges and nearby area.
not related but how do you like it here in pinellas county?

Love it!!! We're (my wife and I) are the proud new live-in managers at a 20-unit condo complex in Maderia Beach. Besides the traffic (which I wasn't used to back in Biloxi), this place is beautiful. And even with the traffic, the wonderful roads are a sight to behold. No doubt, West Central Florida is truly a piece of paradise - even with all the development.

Never have had to wait for service in a store or restaurant? Wow. Based on my experiences down there, you must have moved in after the snowbirds all went home! Just wait 'til after Thanksgiving.

Seriously tho', it's great to hear you're getting your life back up and running.

Arguing is status quo around these parts.
Anyhow, the episode was very good in the comparison between what they predicted and what actually happened in the area.

Thanks, BV. Perhaps what I really meant was "comparatively" speaking!!
Even with the snow birds though (which have been gone since about mid-March), I believe life here is STILL much closer to normal than I have experienced over the last 9 months in Biloxi. I do miss home, but we're gonna give it a real try here and see what happens.
That loop current just to our WSW, though, better behave itself this season!!

It was a very neat episode, it was nice to see how they combined the original and focused the emphasis more on what occurred complements of Katrina and the fact New Orleans wasn't in the worse part of the hurricane to begin with, yet they experienced quite a beating given the very large size of this hurricane.
The encore presentation of Katrina the lost episode will air on Friday night at 9 PM eastern and pacific and at 2 am eastern on TWC if anyone missed it.
