Ya know I have thought this thread over after reading and I have decided that it is better to get all the arguing about wishc asting over with now. So I suppose it is good for everyone to say thier peace. But, I will say one thing. There are a few people on here who are overly sensitive and a few who are not sympathetic at all... Either way I have not seen people -removed- and there is no necessary warnings and bannings that need to be given even if there are some cases. If you see someone who is wishc asting PM a Moderator and I'm sure they would be happy to send that member a Private Message warning them.

I agree and I respect the mod's in here enough to know they can handle it. This is buyer beware and there are enough intelligent people in here to call a wishcaster out when they do it.

Well all the hurricanes can stay over open waters away from land and not touch
anyone...I do not wish for them...they are SCARY...all the HORRIFIC SURGE AND DEADLY WINDS...
also the DAMAGE and your life is RUINED if you get hit...plus if people you know DIE then it's a horrific tragedy

REGARDLESS of whatever ANYONE might say...NO ONE TRULY WISHES FOR A HURRICANE....No one wishes for PROLONGED EXTREME MISERY.

So I will interpret anyone who wishes for one as being sarcastic, joking, or lying....because truly no one wishes for hurricanes...hurricanes are BAD for anyone living in vulnerable areas.

Bolded portion above is good advice!! We have said it over and over again. Let the mods and admins take care of it. Do not try to deal with it yourself.

I like this site. One of the reasons I come here is because I can talk to level headed people who know what they are talking. I don't think anyone is wishing for a storm or should I rephrase that nobody here seems like the type that would wish a storm on someone. We know that someone is more than likely going to get a storm here and it is nice to have a site that one can come to and let all of the fears out before and after.

And how would you experience ?. No human can stand outside in a CAT5 and survive it!!!! Why do you think we have no or very few measurements of CAT5 winds? Why do you think we have very few films of CAT5 conditions? Same reason. None of the equipment can stand it!! When you are crawling out from under the debris that was your "safe house", if you can, then get back to me. Trust me, you have experienced nothing when it comes to storms if you can truly wish a CAT5 to come through where you live. BTDT, and don't want to experience it again and it wasn't/they weren't a CAT5 where I was.

If a 5 is threatening MIA, there is a chance that I will NOT remain on the Rickenbacker (though depending upon any obligations I have for the GOM), and if I leave my office during an MIA hurricane, you know its a bad one

Hey scorpion the thrill of a hurricane is substantially diminished when a CAT 3+ is approaching with winds as high as 180mph gusts. The metro areas of South Florida have not seen that in a *long* time. Don't be surprised if very little is left after that here - so I would not wish upon a storm like that here....
