NO I am not saying that it will develop into a tropical system but being the time of the season as climo favors the GOM until this area moves inland you must keep an eye on it.I haved noticed that the area of deep convection is well SW of the coast of LA and the pannhandle. If it bypass the front moving now east at the south US then conditions may turn a bit favorable. Many of you remember Allison that the vast majority of the people discounted to develop but it went ahead to be a tropical storm and we know what it did to Texas. But rain is the sure forecast for the gulf coast regardless it develops or not.
What I am saying is that until the whole system goes away you must watch it and of course here at storm2k the forecasters will monitor it until the end so you may read the tropical updates that I and David are doing and you will be informed.
Dont take your eyes off the GOM system yet

Thanks for the "heads-up"! The weather here in the Fl PH is very nasty, there are some tremendous wind gusts with all this rain. Several tornado warnings and watches have been issued. The radio has been interrupting broadcasts alot this last hour or so. Keep your head down and stay dry everyone!!

*agrees*
That "pathetic excuse for a tropical storm" dumped 26 inches of rain on my house... I keep an eye on *everything* now!!
And a big thank you to all my new friends here at storm2k who help me do just that with so much great info.

You are welcome Crazy4disney! Thanks for the accolades.
And welcome to Storm2k albeit belatedly!!
Unfortunately, I remember Allision too!!! That is one reason I say NEVER SAY NEVER about any system in the tropics!!! I was one of the few who thought it would/was developing. Little did we know we would almost be washed into the GOM by weeks end!!!
And welcome to Storm2k albeit belatedly!!

This system that is affecting the panhandle of florida is related to a trough at the surface combined with a frontal boundary. As climatology favors this area still way down to the SW of the main complex of thunderstorms south of LA and the panhandle there is another smaller area of showers and thunderstorms but there are no signs of organization to that area close to the bay of campeche but we dont lose nothing if we watch that area at the tail end of the trough to see what will do and I am not -removed- by any means I am only pointing out this factor in that area and making a little observation of it.
