Not mean. Thats the reason for the laughing faces :) Just funny thats all. I think this thread has obtained more posts than if somebody posted a thread with Breaking News : Hurricane alberto Just something to take up the time. Made my day at work though :) I dont have any harsh feelings. I have wishcast in the past or had wishful thoughs about a storm just like we all have at one point.

C'mon, let's not rag. Y'all should show a little empathy, that post was 2004 -- pre-Katrina. I don't know how many of you know where dhweather's hometown of Diamondhead, MS is, but it's about as close to Katrina's final landfall ground zero as it gets.

I know people are senistive about storms especially the Gulf coast area and South Florida. I work for Home Depot and I personally volunteered to go to Mississippi, but they only alotted a certain amount of people to go. People should be able to speak their minds(America=free speech),but if your going to wishcast be sensitive to the people that lost everything and think if it were you before you just post without thinking.

It's all good, I know I had different feelings pre Ivan and feelings change after a major event happens to you.

This is not necessary. A person has the right to do as they please. Who cares if they're -removed-?

I agree with dhweather

nobody should EVER have to experience the aftermath of ANY real hurricane.

All of those -removed- should be sentenced to having to go through real cat 5 conditions for 24 hours, and then deal with the aftermath

I don't think this extreme measure is necessary. If it's enforced, the moderators will be overwhelmed this year on top of their usual duties(which is already a lot).

Hey DH, I feel your pain and concern. IT was only as of 2 days ago I could again drive to work without a lengthy delay on US 98 between Destin and Fort Walton...and this was all due to Ivan and Dennis DESTROYING the road. Unfortunately -removed- will always continue until the individuals doing the -removed- are directly affected by the wrath of one of these storms. Then and only then might their perception of the "coolness" of hurricanes change!!

Still say we are going over board on this issue...No wishcast will ever effect a track...I'm just worried some newbie is in the cone of doom 3 days out and might think the storm is going to hit his area even though it is projected to turn 1 day out might get bashed as a wish*aster I've seen this the last 2 years... :(

Were still editing wishcast or did it just start up again?

I agree. It is not necessary. We should try to preserve free speech here.

Now if someone was taking glee in the damage a storm caused, than that is a different story :x

I agree. There's a difference between being excited that the season is starting and actually being happy that a storm has destroyed something. If you implement what dhweather is suggesting, you'd have to get a whole new set of moderators just for that.
