NJ Hurricanes and MD

#1 Postby angelwing » Thu Jun 01, 2006 7:10 am

I heard on the way into work about NJ getting ready for the hurricane season and they mentioned that in the past there were 3 of them, one of them was on in 1916 that reshaped Egg Harbor. Does anyone have info on this one? I would google but I'm at work and for some reason all the search engines are blocked out. Thanks!

Oh there was one in Maryland too I believe that reshaped the Inlet, but I don't remember the year, any info on that would be greatly appreciated!

The 1933 storm that hit the Virginia capes and came up the Chesepeake opened the inlet between Ocean City and Assateague.

I'll have to look up the 1916 storm but I think there was one, but it did not hit the coast but went into New England. I'll (or someone else) will get back to ya soon. :)
