Closed Low forming East Of Port Mansfield

#1 Postby KFDM Meteorologist » Tue May 30, 2006 3:40 pm

Looking at Bouy data off the Texas coast there is certainly a circulation forming at the surface. Slim chance this could develop and head west toward South Texas.

Usually I would write this off as "hype."

You have just peaked my interest...

Looks like this thing has a decent chance. Looking at satellite...this may be a TD or TS by the evening.

I like the closed circulation though at the surface looking at the Buoys.

Here's the 20z surface plots. That buoy just off the coast of Brownsville has been dropping pressure all day today.

no, I am not kidding and I am not -removed- either because I am currently in FL. Actually I would be kind of mad if it did develop because I would miss it, but looking a Satellite/bouys I think this may really have a chance. If nothing else...expect more rain and gusty winds along the TX coast.

Yes Extreme...a chance, but saying it could be a TS by this evening? Don't you think that's a little much?

check out the satellite loop on the Natl. Hurricane Center website for the Gulf. You can clearly see the hook swirl just off of Corpus.

I said TD or TS. You never know what the NHC may do. Also, I am not saying it will happen; just a chance.
