Christy,
All you need to do is go to http://www.wwltv.com . Press the highlighted link in the previous sentence. You'll need to do a small, routine registration, like you do with many of these local news websites. On the front page, you'll see clearly where you are to "press," to view the program. I believe it says something about viewing the program. Don't press I-News, because that is another link through this website, that is an internet news program that Channel 4 does everyday after the regular TV news. If you go to I-News, you'll miss the hurricane special. It will be at 7:00 CST, so, remember that's 8 for you guys! Enjoy the broadcast.

I am watching the program now. I can't believe they will still have shelters open this year in Terrebonne and Lafourche. We are 60 miles SOUTH of New Orleans. There is no hurricane protection in Terrebonne or Lafourche. If they are going to bus people out of New Orleans for safety, then the same should be done for Terrebonne and Lafouche. They seen what Hurricane Rita did to Terrebonne Parish and she hit 200 miles away. We can barely handle a Cat 1 Hurricane here much less a major. We escaped the brunt of Katrina by only 50 miles. I shudder to think if one went straight up Terrebonne Bay or hit just to our west like Morgan City. It will be way worse than when Betsy hit head on in 1965. Lots of land has been lost since then.

Well, I thought it was an informative special and it seems like the area is prepared. But, as Carl mentioned in the end, our goverment won't have the proper "defenses," for several years from now. What New Orleans truly needs is to be free from anything stronger than a Category 2, for, at least the next 4 to 5 years, and then, I'm confident we'll have proper protection from the storm surge we encountered with Hurricane Katrina.
