Hurricane preparing simulation game?

#1 Postby apocalypt-flyer » Thu May 25, 2006 7:22 am

Well, I wonder if anyone still has that link to this Simulation game which simulated the arrival of a hurricane where you had to 'help' the family to organize things. My niece is living near the east coast and I thought it might be a clever way to explain a lot of stuff to her.

Would this be what you were thinking of? I think it's fantastic, found it last year.

they really need to re-do that preparedness game! It is starting to get out of date (as it mentions none of the recent storms). Also, it seems like it only prepares you for winds. What I think they should do is make a new version with better graphics..videos of actual hurricane conditions..damage pictures from the aftermath..and an up to date step-by-step plan.

Did you notice? The family member names were all names of Category 5 hurricanes: Camille, Carla and Gilbert!

They've stuck a lot of hurricane names into this game. The dog's name is Hugo, yet another Category 5.

On the bulletin board, it says "Aunt Besty", but Betsy was a Cat 4.

They have an "Uncle Bob"

A guy named Floyd then calls Camille in the middle of the hurricane and says he's having a hurricane party (whaaaaat? It was CAMILLE who supposedly had the party)
