Phrases You'll hear in 2006

#1 Postby Downdraft » Wed May 17, 2006 7:10 pm

Thought we could have some fun and add those "meaningful" (tongue in cheek) phrases that will pop up through the coming season. I've started with a few how about your choices for your favorites or at least those that ring your chimes.
Not in any order
1. It's going annular
2. It's weakening because it's in an EWRC
3. My gut says it's coming to Florida
4. My gut says it's coming to Texas
5. My gut says it's coming to ( fill in the blank)
6. It's a FISH (my personal favorite)
7. Bastardi says " "
8. No way this deserves a name
9. When will they move the floater?
10. Any phrase that contains wish and cast in the same sentence.

1. Its wobbling!
2. GFS long range showing development" " (Id be more concerned if GFS showed tranquil conditions  )
3. NHC really should have named this by now. (Doesnt matter if its an open wave with 15 kt winds if it looks good on sattelite NAME IT)
4. Its a Cat 5 because it has Cat 5 pressure. (Dont listen to recon they dont know what they are talking about.)
5. It was a cat 2 storm with a cat 5 surge. (THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CAT 5 SURGE..SURGE IS MEASURED IN FEET FOR CRYING OUT LOUD)
6. Its undergoing a EWRC. All joking aside folks every fluctuation in intensity is NOT caused by an EWRC. Cold eddys and short term unfavorable upper winds can do this too.
7. Its making landfall. The outer bands coming onshore does NOT constitute a landfall.
8. My Favorite.usually around mid june when there havent been any named storms yet : SEASON CANCEL :grr:

Will think of more later

)I see a more westerly component.
)I see a more northerly component.
)The air is too dry.
)We're already out of gas.

(I estimate the words "component" and "trend" will be used 16,931 times before Nov. 30)
