Does anyone know where I can get Shape files for the roads in South Florida for GRLevel3?

Do you need AllisonHouse to zoom to street level? I'm thinking this will be VERY handy during severe weather threats.

No SG. AllisonHouse is another outlet for radar. The zoom to streetlevel is good for whichever server you get the radar from. The difference between Allisonhouse and NWS data may only be from a few seconds to a minute or so. If you need those extra seconds for storm chasing than go with Allisonhouse. If not the NWS should be fine for most.

Thank you for the info. I think I'll give it a shot without AllisonHouse then...I think I'll have my hands full learning all the tools, etc. as it is. :)

Tiger maps are here for 2000 http://arcdata.esri.com/data/tiger2000/ ... wnload.cfm After you select the county you would choose line features-Roads. There is plenty of help on GRLevel3 forums. Somewhere there'sa tutorial.

I absolutely love GRLevel3... still using trial version. StormLab looks great (can view radars while I'm gone, thank goodness, that can't be done with GRLevel3), so I think I'll try it out next severe wx event.

Does anyone know if either the video card in the MacBook Pro or the new Macbook supports the smoothing feature in GRLevel3? I'd run the program under XP via Bootcamp.

Florida MAY offer GIS data for free. Check with Miami-Dade Co.'s website for road shapefiles. Many states do offer the data for free but you really have to dig for it.

Here's a link you can start from: http://www.fws.gov/data/2mdata.html#Geodata
