All valid points, and even though this storm will rack up expenses probably all-round in the neighborhood of 125-200 Billion, the fact remains that the "official" damages will be based on yet another algorithm employed (roughly double the insurance claims)... and reality be---well, darned.

Not true, South Florida got soaked, I think Homestead had 18 inches of rain
