Talking about tropics at school.

#1 Postby beachbum_al » Fri May 05, 2006 10:08 pm

This morning I had a student tell me that there was a storm out in the Gulf and it was going to turn into a hurricane. I asked her what station she heard it on and she said Channel 10 out of Mobile. I tried to calm her down and assure her that there was not a hurricane in the Gulf and pulled it on the internet to show her the tropical outlook. Even the kids down here are getting prepare by scaring their teacher to death by announcing such.

Better than being totally ignorant of hurricane facts for your area, like up here.

I hope you guys in Alabama get a break. You have just been devastated in the last two hurricane seasons.

I'm sure that after everything that the Gulf has been through the last two years, any kind of blob or convection will cause talk or panic.
