Server Overload When We Get Our First Invest?

#1 Postby gatorcane » Wed May 03, 2006 11:03 pm

I can't believe all of the attention these non-tropical features are getting. For example, the nothing low off of Florida about 3 weeks ago caused mass hysteria here.

Now this nothing GOM system shown by the 250+ hour GFS has caused nearly 580 views in less than 12 hours....and we're in the off-season!

Seriously, are we ready storm2k?

Actually partly yes, I am kidding, but partly no. Seriously - do we have the bandwidth?

It is going to go nuts in here when we get our first invest - and if Florida is in the cone of uncertainty - I can't imagine the # of users that will be in here...

Just curious moderators - do we have the % increase in storm2k users this season from last season? I imagine it is quite substantial.

I don't know but if we don't, a donation to the board would be a good idea! Your name would look great with a S2K supporter tag under it!

Since there is less than a month to hurricane season, might I suggest the donation link be moved to this forum and stickied now. http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=68372
That way we could start the donation drive for this season a little early and get whatever we needed to get the board in good shape for the upcoming season.

When are we going to hear about the "new" S2K Supporter option that I've heard of?

Either go to the S2K Home page and look on the right a little ways down the page, or click here: S2K Donations

I'm really nervous this year. Don't be surprised if I am logged on here A LOT while I am also getting prepared this year!
