remember, most of S Fla's hits come from the Caribbean
Derek that is true but MAJOR hurricanes for South Florida hit more from the East.
I don't think Barometer Bob is that far off. Here is what I am calling for:
1 TS to strike the W or SW Coast of Florida in the June timeframe
CAT 4 to hit Miami/Homestead in August
CAT 3 to hit Palm Beach area in September
CAT 2/3 to hit Tampa area in October.
If you think this is not realistic check out those horrible years between 1945 and 1950 for Florida

This is going to be an ugly year for Florida again.

but i think u maybe right about florida.
then again the reason that two major storms hit your general area is because you live there. Everyone has a natural tendency to predict the worst happening to them or thinking that it will be a bad year for their area. In the end, I doubt this year will end up as bad as the above prediction. The chance of a a hurricane directly hitting Palm Beach, Homestead and Tampa all in one year is pretty slim (not impossible, but not probable).

After Frances, Jeanne, Ivan, and Charley hit in 2004, many people were in your boat regarding 2005...
Then in 2005 Dennis, Wilma, and Katrina hit/impacted the area....
do you think 2006 will just suddenly be quiet for Florida? Hmmm...

I am not saying that the above intensity and number of storms will not play out...I just do not think they will all happen to hit those major targets. May be 1-2 of those places will see a direct hit, but for all 3 of those major population centers to be hit directly would be crazy (though still not impossible).boca_chris wrote:then again the reason that two major storms hit your general area is because you live there.
